Recent words on climate change.
The Terminator is getting into the act, Arnie says:
“I’ve starred in a lot of science fiction movies and, let me tell you something, climate change is not science fiction, this is a battle in the real world, it is impacting us right now.
“I believe the science is in. The debate is over and the time for action is now,” he told an invited audience of intellectuals and spiritual leaders from all faiths. “This is bigger than any movie, this is the challenge of our time. And it is our responsibility to leave this world a better place than we found it, but right now we are failing future generations.”
86-year-old Benin writer and politician Albert Teveodjré says:
“Nature was loaned to us as a place to live. I witness a world of profit at all costs which will ruin the environment and devastate everything. I am very worried. I think I will leave the world with many worries.”
And then there’s Martin O’Malley he says:
“One of the things that preceded the failure of the nation-state of Syria, the rise of ISIS, was the effect of climate change and the mega-drought that affected that region, wiped out farmers, drove people to cities, created a humanitarian crisis that created the symptoms – or rather the conditions – of extreme poverty that has led now to the rise of ISIL and this extreme violence,”
Then, oh dear, Donald Trump says:
“The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.
This very expensive GLOBAL WARMING bullshit has got to stop. Our planet is freezing, record low temps, and our GW scientists are stuck in ice.”
